Return to Liverpool for national team captain hurt? Wrong Choice

Senior members of the national team also joined the public criticism.

Public opinion is brewing in Egypt over Mohamed Salah's return to Liverpool. Salah injured his left hamstring on the 19th. It is in the second Group B match between Egypt and Ghana of the 2023 CAF African Nations Cup to be held in Ivory Coast, Africa.

Salah, who started as Egypt's main striker, lay on the ground at the end of the first half. He felt pain in his left thigh. Salah failed to return after leaving the ground. Immediately after, British media Daily Mail analyzed that Salah had a hamstring injury.

However, as a result of accurate examination, Salah's injury was not his hamstring, but his back. He had to sit out for a while due to an abnormality in his back muscle.

The controversy arose afterwards. Salah did not return to Egypt but to England. The Egyptian Football Association said on Monday, "Salah is going to Liverpool, England. She is going to heal her injuries. Medical staff of the Egyptian national soccer team and medical staff of Liverpool discussed with each other about Salah's injury. As a result, they decided that it would be better to receive treatment in Liverpool." Salah's team Liverpool said, "Salah has started treatment for her muscle injury. She will engage in intensive rehabilitation programs with Liverpool medical staff."

Salah still had hope of returning to the Nations Cup. "The best scenario is to get well treated in England and return to Africa and rejoin the Egyptian national team," the agent even said in person.

However, Salah chose England, which is farther away from Egypt. He thought that treatment in his team Liverpool would be better than treatment in Egypt. Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp explained that Ivory Coast, where the Nations Cup will be held, is not suitable as an environment to treat Salah.

Public opinion within Egypt is not good. Salah is the captain of the Egyptian national soccer team. It is a symbol of Egyptian soccer. Such Salah goes to England, not Egypt, for treatment. This could lead to distrust of the Egyptian medical community. It also affects the morale of the Egyptian national team currently participating in the Nations Cup.

The intervention of Liverpool medical staff is also inconvenient for Egypt. Ahmed Hassan, one of the legends of Egyptian football, directly criticized Salah. Hassan, who was born in 1975, played for the Egyptian national team for 17 years from 1995 to 2012. He has played in 184 A-matches. He led Egypt to the Nations Cup championship and was named the MVP at the 2006 and 2010 tournaments. Prior to Salah, he was a star player representing Egyptian football.

Hasan himself touched Salah. Hasan said, "Salah left the Egyptian national team. Even if he comes back, there is a possibility that he will be with Liverpool medical staff. Liverpool's influence, not Egypt, can be strongly influenced by whether Salah will play or not."

"Salah is the captain of the Egyptian national soccer team. Even if he couldn't play, he should have stayed on the team. Salah himself said that the Egyptian national team is not Salah's national team, but a team that represents the whole of Egypt. This is true. Then he should not have moved to England," he said.

Hasan didn't stop there. "All the Egyptian players in Ivory Coast are full of confidence. They fight for the championship. But Salah didn't," Hasan said. "The absence of Salah alone could damage the Egyptian soccer. The morale of the players went down. I always supported Salah. I was happy that he was the captain of the Egyptian team. But he should not have moved to England. He is the captain of Egypt. No matter how big the injury is, they should remain in the team. All the players fight for the championship on the field."

Salah's injury is not so serious. It is unclear whether he will return to the Cup of Nations or not. "Salah's injury is worse than first thought. She will be sidelined for about 21 to 28 days. Currently, Salah is under intensive rehabilitation in the U.K. The best scenario is to join the Egyptian national team as soon as she gets better," said Ramy Abbas.

Liverpool and Klopp were shocked. Shortly after Salah's injury, Klopp said, "I was shocked when I heard about it. I talked to Salah last night and asked him about his injury. I don't know anything about Salah's injury yet. Such an injury requires further examination. We will know more details until it is over and over." Klopp then explained his mixed feelings. "We will probably take ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Next, we need to look into what Egypt is planning. It is too early to take an immediate stance."

Egypt, which is seeking to win the title due to Salah's absence, is in red light. Egypt, which has the most wins in the Nations Cup with seven times, was one of the strongest contenders this time as well. However, it is not certain that it will win the title so far.

The same goes for Liverpool. Liverpool ranks first in the Premier League with 14 wins, six draws, one loss and 48 points. It is five points ahead of second-ranked Manchester City. Salah is at the core of Liverpool's capability. With 14 goals, he is tying with Erling Holland for the top scorer in the entire Premier League as well as in his team.

Liverpool, which already has to endure Salah's absence in January and February due to its call-up to the Nations Cup, is on alert. The probability of winning the Premier League varies greatly depending on the degree of Salah's injury and the length of his recovery. Salah's injury, which is bigger than expected, has put Liverpool and Egypt in crisis.

It could also affect the renewal of contract between Liverpool and Salah. Liverpool is determined to secure Salah at the moment. The R-Itihad, which is under the influence of Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund (PIF), sought to recruit Salah last summer.

Their offer is worth 215 million pounds. Liverpool cannot afford the amount. Al-Ihihad, which puts the tiger as its symbol, is making aggressive investments by recruiting Karim Benzema from Real Madrid.

Salah, based on a transfer mark that mainly evaluates transfer player value, was £170 million (about 284.2 billion won) in the 2018-19 season when Liverpool won the UEFA Champions League (UCL). Currently, it was £70 million (about 117 billion won) as of December last year.

It is true that money cannot overcome Saudi Arabia's oil money. You have to rely on a player's loyalty or conviction. Since Egypt is an Islamic culture and Salah also has strong religious beliefs, he has every reason to go to Saudi Arabia. The British public magazine "Mirrors" reported on the 7th that "Liverpool has a solution to Salah's possible transfer. Everyone tries to go in a positive direction. There will be profits."

Liverpool, whose contract with Salah ends in the summer of 2025, plans to extend it for another year. It is most likely that Saudi Arabia will match the level of transfer fee through renewal of the contract with Salah. Right now, Giogu Jota will fill the gap in the Nations Cup, but it is true that it is not easy to secure a substitute if it is left in the long term. Due to this complex situation, it is difficult to promise a long future with Salah, with rumors of Hwang Hee-chan being recruited.

Salah is also known to be positive about renewing his contract with Liverpool. This is the message the media got through an internal source in Liverpool. However, if you are worried that the detailed conditions have not yet been coordinated, you are worried. They are struggling for a one-year extension and a two-year extension.

Still, R-Itihad wants to buy Salah for a large amount of money. It is a shocking 2.45 million pounds a week. Bonuses for uniforms and bonuses for winning the league and allowances for ambassadors of at least three major Saudi companies are still pending.

"Salah is one of the best players in the world. I once said that anyone including Salah welcomes anyone who wants to come to Saudi Arabia's league," said Michael Emenalo, director of soccer at the Saudi Arabian League.

Liverpool is making all-out efforts to renew the contract with Salah. More than anything else, Salah is Klopp's favorite player. On Nov. 13 last year, Salah scored two goals against Brentford at his home in Liverpool. It proved why Salah is called the "King of Anfield." He has scored six consecutive goals in the opening games of this season's home league. This was the first time in the history of Liverpool.

Salah gave Liverpool the opening goal in the 39th minute of the first half. Núñez grabbed the ball in the center of the penalty box, caught the attention of defenders, and passed the ball to Salah, who was penetrating into the right side. Salah, who caught the ball with his right foot, finished it with his left foot. A neat shot that the goalkeeper cannot block. The extra goal came in the 17th minute of the second half. He did not jump comfortably on the ball from the left side and cut the net with a header. Brentford players made a mistake as they thought it was out of the goal line and did not move.

Klopp highly praised Salah. "He scored 200 goals in England alone. He had a great game today (on Saturday)," Klopp said. "Salah is a crazy player. Her first goal was amazing. She is a special player."

At the end of last year, he was named the most outstanding player in this season's Premier League by British media Telegraph. He beat second-ranked Erling Holland and third-ranked Son Heung-min. The three players are currently in the top three in scoring in the Premier League. Hwang Hee-chan ranked 19th in this list. 스포츠중계

Meanwhile, Egypt did not even have a single win in the group stage of the Nations Cup. Its performance was not good enough to be overshadowed by its modifier. It only drew three draws, but as the second runner-up in the group, it reached the round of 16. Initially, Salah was planning to join the national team if Egypt advanced to the semifinals. The semifinals of the Nations Cup will be held on Feb. 8.

However, as Salah's agent said, if he is sidelined for at least three weeks or up to a month, he will not be able to participate in the Nations Cup. He will not be able to play in actual matches until March.

If Kim Min-jae returns, there may be no Tuchel

If Kim Min-jae, who was elected to the Asian Cup, returns to Bayern Munich, Thomas Tuchel may not be there already. Calls for dismissal are growing in Germany due to poor performance.

"Munich has to dismiss Tuchel to save this season. The reasons are as follows," the German Bavarian Football Association said on Tuesday, citing a whopping 13 reasons.

The media said, "Shameless things are going on and things are going to get worse. Munich lost to Werder Bremen for the first time since 2008. No one but Tuchel should be blamed," adding, "Some people will oppose it, but Tuchel is now making Munichen play the most evil football possible and the results are not the same."

Munich beat its rival Borussia Dortmund last season to reach the top of the Bundesliga. Since the 2012-13 season, it has never let go of its position as the strongest player in the league.

Of course, it was not easy. Dortmund's momentum was so strong and Munich continued to suffer under former coach Julian Nagelsmann. The competition continued so intense that the winning team was decided until the final round.

However, the Korean team has failed to even compete at all this season. Bayer Leverkusen has displayed incredible performance this season, which means it is not easy to catch up with the team.

Leverkusen, which has played 18 matches in the league, has recorded 48 points with 15 wins, three draws and no losses. Munich has recorded 41 points with 13 wins, two draws and two losses with one less match. Leverkusen is seven points shorter than Leverkusen.

If you win a game, you can narrow it down to four points, but the problem is that Munich has been somewhat slow recently, unlike Leverkusen's momentum. It has lost two games in the last five league games, widening the gap with Leverkusen. In particular, he bowed his head in a home game against Bremen on the 21st, recording a face-to-face defeat for the first time in 16 years. Since then, Tuchel's position has begun to falter.

On Tuchel's problems, Barbarian Football pointed out "why put Thomas Muller back on the bench," "the return of the U-shaped build-up system," "Harry Kane who doesn't play like a striker," "wasted Jamal Musiala," "continued use of Leroy, who has no influence on the left," "the midfield that doesn't work properly," "Hafael Guerreiro's weak presence," "Alfonso Davis full of flaws," "There's so much to be responsible for," "Upha Meccano," and "Why Konrad Reimer is starting at right-back."

"Why shouldn't Vodzin replace Tuchel? It will be in Munich's best interest to replace Tuchel," he said, raising his voice that Tuchel should be replaced.

"Tuchel is about to mark his one-year anniversary as a manager. However, Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamizic, who brought him, left the club. Tuchel is not living up to his expectations at all in terms of success," he said.

"Munich is forming a team based on Tuchel's vision, but it is very dangerous at this stage. Fans should be concerned about this," he said. "They could fail to win a trophy this season. What if Tuchel fails and leaves a list full of players who don't fit well with the club? What if it is too late to turn it around in the worst case scenario?" he said, stressing that the team should consider replacing Tuchel as soon as possible. 스포츠토토

Finally, "Munich is getting closer to the discussion that should happen," he said, adding that Tuchel's time is decreasing.
